Posted: 01 Nov 2021 06:24 PM PDT It just really doesn't really make any sense with what we see in-game, both storywise (surely Glados would know she could talk and comment on her willful silence, and she has every reason to talk to Wheatley at first so why doesn't she if she can?) and humorwise (Glados looks even more petty and assholish talking like that to somebody who can't make vocal comebacks, while Wheatley is the exact sort of moron to not only keep trying to converse with somebody who isn't responding but fail to understand sign/body language). I know the whole "she can talk but doesn't to deny them the satisfaction" idea was put forth by one of the writers and Chell never talking is ultimately just a player-immersion thing, but honestly I've always felt that the lore and jokes just generally make more sense if she's actually mute.
