Could the ending of portal 2 be another test chamber?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2021 03:06 AM PDT

I hadn't player portal in a long while, and i decided to replay both the games last weekend, including portal stories Mel.

A few things got be wondering, is the ending of portal 2 just another test chamber? My reasons for thinking this:

Including just portal 1 and portal 2:

The ending of portal 1 is trees and a car park - granted, aperture science is a very large place, and it could just be somewhere else. However, as far as i can tell, Chell exits the facility above the location of Glados in both games. Again, you could make the argument that perhaps Glados / Wheatly repositioned their location at some point in Portal 2, however this is something that is hard to verify. Another thing that perhaps adds to this concept, is how at the end of portal 2, Glados deletes Caroline from her system. While this might not have a lot to do with it, and could just be something to add to the narrative, it could also be a hint toward Glados turning "evil" again, and wanting to continue testing on Chell. One last reason i believe that it could be another test chamber, is due to how "fake" looking it is. By this, I mean that there are no trees in sight, and the weather and crop field all seem to be in a very perfect condition.

Including portal1, portal stories Mel, and portal 2:

At the ending of portal stories Mel, the outside world is a complete wasteland. This means that either there was a very, very long amount of time between stories Mel and portal 2, or again that the ending of portal 2 could be a test chamber.

If there was ever to be a portal 3, then I hope that they'll include details from portal stories Mel. The idea of the ending being a test chamber could be completely wrong however, so please let me know if you have any evidence against this.

Are the aperture science investment opportunities canon?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2021 06:53 PM PDT

On the half-life wiki they say they're non-canon but on the aperture wiki I don't see anything that says they're not canon. The only thing that is making me assume that they're not canon is the fact that GLaDOS said she came up with the robot idea before Chell escaped. But Cave Johnson seems so aware of them all and I know it's a promotional video for the game but still I'm very interested and not to make a pun invested

How does (insert protagonist name here) survive being in space? It's generally about the temperature in space. Either they didn't think about it much, or they are a god.
