Unpopular opinion: valve really slacked on coop mapping Posted: 28 Jan 2021 01:10 AM PST This is an extremely unpopular opinion in the portal community, but the coop maps had some extreme faults in them... For example: the first two parts were mapped in p1 style and hastily changed over to p2 style... Evidence? The panels are the exact same, brushwork pistons with a giant rotating cylinder for angling. More evidence of this? If you swap the textures in the first few maps you can see very well that the p1 textures actually fit better as it was designed with them Another example: prop placement... There is an office with literally no props in it, completely empty. Another office where there is a computer sitting on top of another computer? Stacked computer??? And also sometimes the light strips are only half shown because they are shoved half way into a wall Example 3 (funni number) texturing: there are some instances where they used p1 concrete textures in bts areas... If you don't know what bts is, it's behind the scenes, and concrete is the portable surface texture in p1, there are also constantly misaligned textures everywhere!
