He has been obsessed with Portal since he beat the game with my husband while he was recovering from surgery 3 years ago. I may have mentioned that he could maybe get a toy portal gun when he was like, 5? Not realizing that's not a thing--and models cost way more than we could ever afford. He's really good at the game now! And I have like a gazillion pictures that he drew in pre-K of portal levels, which according to my husband are kind of accurate. Here is a semi-recent drawing, and his letter to Santa.

    What are the chances that ANYONE in this void of kind strangers owns, and is willing to part with, a portal gun replica?

    The upbeat thing that plays on the menu after you beat Portal 1, I think? I can't be bothered to dig through videos to find it where it plays exactly, but it's the same tune at the beginning of the "Meet the Cores" video, starting around 0:23 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlFXCC4Hfa0

    It's been driving me crazy all day. Surely it's not originally from Portal? I've definitely heard it before and I can't recall where and kicking myself trying to remember. Unless wherever it was took it from here, in which case, any idea where it might be?

    Apparently it originated in Portal? But I've literally never played it before this week, even though I've definitely heard it! Any other media that may have borrowed it as a cameo? Does it play in one of the Rusty Lake games maybe?
