    [QUESTION] Portal 2 on PC lagging with modern GPU

    Hey guys! I am trying to play thru portal 2 again for the first time in years. I just built a PC with a RTX 2070 Super and 16gb of RAM. It runs Red Dead 2 perfectly! When I try to run portal 2 however, it lags so hard. I even changed all video settings to lowest and it helped a little but I am still getting like 5FPS. Do you guys know a fix for this? I've been looking online to no avail.

    Aperture tech's puzzling heat resistance

    I'm sure you all recall at the end of Portal when you're nearing the flames, GLaDOS says "all Aperture technologies stay safely operational up to 4000 degrees Kelvin." The thing is however, the most heat resistant metal, tungsten, can only withstand 3695 degrees Kelvin. So does this mean that aperture did a VERY large round up from around 3700 to 4000? Maybe that they've discovered a new metallic element? That's not even counting the signature white outer casing that we know is also heat resistant due to the scorched companion cube we see at the end of Portal 2 (could be ceramic.) Let me know what you think, I'm very curious.
