    Help with Portal 2's Graphics

    So I'm sure that this is a strange question, considering the game's been out for 9 years (and I've been playing it since launch) but I'm having a bit of an error with the graphics in Portal 2. Essentially, there are no shadows or fog or anything. The simple solution would be mat_fullbright 0, and while I've tried that, there has been no change. This doesn't look like mat_fullbright 1, but the shadows are missing and the world is noticeably brighter than its supposed to look. I've reinstalled the game, verified integrity of game files, reset the config.cfg file, deleted every trace of the game from my PC and reinstalled it back again, but I've had no luck. If anyone could help, it would be appreciated. I can only go so long looking at P-Body without a shadow, lmao.

    In my perspective, P-Body doesn't have a shadow below him, unlike my friend's where Atlas has a shadow. The doorway to the first test chamber is also noticeably brighter in my point of view.

    Ok fellas so I had a bit of a brainwave. There I was smashing some steel plates together and I thought about how this series of games needs a number 3.
