    /r/Portal Test Chamber Showcase - February 2020

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:12 PM PST

Hello, and again, welcome to the Aperture Science computer-aided enrichment center. We hope your brief detention in the relaxation vault has been a pleasant one.

The Enrichment Center is pleased to present the February 2020 /r/Portal Test Chamber Showcase.

Here, you may post links to up to three chambers, or one collection. You may post your own chamber or someone else's chamber, but if it was made by someone else, please be advised that Aperture Science regulations require you to credit the author. If you fail to do so, you must disregard any undeserved praise.

Feedback and discussion about chambers you have tested in this thread is highly encouraged, as it helps creators to improve their work.

    Thank you, and have fun.

Why doesn’t the Neurotoxic kill Chell at the finale of Portal 2?

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:13 PM PST

I just finished P2 for the second time (and enjoyed it arguably more than the first) and I realized something about the finale. Wheatley releases neurotoxin into the room and it doesn't stop until you get the first corrupt core. Shouldn't this kill Chell? During the first escape, when Glados sets up her "final test" which turns out to be a trap, the neurotoxin kills in a matter of a few seconds. My first time playing the finale I didn't realize what to do for at least a few minutes. The gas is definitely released into the room, which means that at some point the toxin generator was rebuilt. It looks fully functional. Am I missing something?

    Portal 2 Four-Player Co-op Speedrun Starting Soon

    Posted: 31 Jan 2020 11:42 PM PST

Hi everyone! When this post is 3h10 old, myself and three friends are going to be speedrunning the Portal 2 Co-op, in the UK speedrunning marathon WASD!

How can four people do that, you ask? Easy! One of us will be on Atlas's mouse, another on Atlas's keyboard, another on P-Body's mouse, and finally one on P-Body's keyboard! Three of us currently hold the world record for this category, by virtue of being the only fools foolish enough to actually try it.

The marathon will be rasing money for the wonderful UK charity SpecialEffect.

For more information on the marathon: https://wasd.warwick.gg

To watch us (starts ~10:50 GMT): https://twitch.tv/wanwickesports
