Question about Portal 2s final blow to Wheatley

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 03:27 AM PST

You shoot a portal to the moon to suck him into space and give him eternal hell, but how is the moon exposed? When GLaDOS sends you out into the field, you go through tons of levels of turrets before you read the surface, so how did the portal reach through all of that to hit the moon when there's no obvious holes?

Thought I should share this here: My parents bought me an autograph of the voice actor of Wheatley for Christmas! Absolutely love the guy!

Recently got my (boomer) father to play portal 2

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 03:24 AM PST

He was surprisingly good at it. It took him awhile to figure out the controls (the game does not do a food job teaching it to you while using the steam link) and I had to guide him through some of the tutorial levels (including a few labels where I had to take control using keyboard and mouse inputs) but eventually he was going fast enough that I could see the original thought process from when I first played, if a bit slower, and I was able to just sit bench, watch, and give helpful commentary. I eventually want to play the cooperative testing initiative with him. Any suggestions for how to get him to play some more next weekend?

Does portal need a third sequel?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 10:29 PM PST

Ive been thinking, i thought atleast that portal 2 wrapped up the story fairly well, chell finally being free, gLaDOS now being happy shes away from chell. now dont get me wrong i think a third game in the portal franchise would be amazing. but it would be hard on valves part to make a 3rd game fit into the story. let me know your opinion on this

Did GLaDOS have any Vortigaunt or Combine test subjects?

Considering that Portal and Half-Life take place in a shared universe, and after the seven hour war there were probably resistance members, both human and not, who wanted to learn Aperture's secrets.

A alternate story to portal 2

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 03:46 PM PST

I've seen the "glados is ded" video on YouTube and had a idea. For context, the is basically the portal 2 ending but wheatley survives and glados is sucked into space. Now,into the story!

When chell tries to do the first core transfer,it fails and wheatley is send to android hell. Then, glados sends in an elevator to take chell back to the test chambers, but the floor breaks and chell falls into old aperture Luckily, Android hell is there. Chell grabs wheatley and gets outta there. Then the final boss batle happens. Glados is in space and wheatley escapes with chell.

    Portal 2 coop

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 02:54 PM PST

Apparently you can host a portal 2 coop session, let a random person in, then turn on sv_cheats and crash the other persons game

Can somebody please explain what's wrong with my BEE2 editor?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 03:24 PM PST

My girlfriend is really bad at first person games (and games in general) - can this game be played co-op where one person is carrying most of the weight?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 09:17 AM PST

Or do both players really need to be on the ball?

I'm hoping this game can be played where the first player (me) is doing 99% of the work and she's basically just playing support here and there.

    Theory

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:41 PM PST

I have a theory about Chell and Duck Ratman, evaluate whether this is possible? THEORY Duck Ratman Father Chell When in the comic prequel to the portal 2, "Laboratory Rat", Duck wanted to save Chell only there were a lot of subjects, and at least one (not counting them) could defeat GLaDOS and he watched her very much worried about her as his daughter. Also in my opinion in chapter 5 (I don't remember exactly) there were stands with projects of children working in aperture and Duck Ratman worked there and that's why I think Duck Ratman is father Chell P.S. I live in Russia and please share your opinion about this theory. THANKS!!!!
