    Was Caroline really forced to become Glados or was just an metaphor?

    In one of the last audios from Cave Johnson, he states that if he doesnt survive long enough to be "poured into a computer", he'd want Caroline to run Aperture, but she would probably "refuse due to modesty". As we all know, in the end Caroline was indeed put into Glados and made run the facility.

    So the question is: was she really forced, like phisically restrained and forced to give up on life to become the model for the AI (as the deleted audio suggest), or is it just a metaphor to say they'd have to talk and convince her its what Cave would want and consciously agreed, but she could tottallly refuse if she didnt want so?

    And why did Cave wanted Caroline to run a science testing company in the first place? Just because she was a good person?

    When GLaDOS is offline between Portal 1 and 2 who kept all the vital operations etc running? Since Wheatly couldn't do it and almost destroyed it. It obiviously needes active monitoring and repairing. So who did this? Cores?
