    I have a theory about the original "surprise" that GLaDOS was going to show us before Wheatley helped us escape.

    So, in chamber 21 (the chamber that Wheatley breaks you out of) GLaDOS says that she's got a surprise after the test after that. She talks about how she will use the last bag of good confetti that they have (remember that), and "tragic consequences". We never get to see this surprise because Wheatley breaks us out of that chamber and we escape into the facility. That test that GLaDOS shows us while we are on the run is fake, and was not the last test in any way.

    But anyways, once we get to the neurotoxin part, and shut that down, the pipe gets destroyed, and we get sucked into it, leading us directly to GLaDOS's chamber. Right as we get sucked in we see confetti going through the pipe which at one point also had neurotoxin going through it. I think that GLaDOS may have put confetti in the neurotoxin and was going to kill us with that gas whilst confetti also rained down. What do you think?

    Why does removing the cores from GLaDOS kill her?

    The title says it all: what is it about removing the cores from GLaDOS that kills her and creates the vortex that pulls you both up? Is this ever explained? It seems a bit jarring and unintuitive to me, as a plot point.
