    An idea for Portal 3

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:41 PM PDT

Hi everyone, I have this idea for Portal 3 that I've been sitting on for a while now. I thought that now would be the time to share it with the release of Half Life: Alyx having just happened.

    The Idea

I first thought of this idea at the end of my first run through of Portal 2. When the core is telling "Spaaaace!" " Spaaaaace! ". I'm sure that gives a massive clue as to what my idea is, but I'm going to spell it out for you anyway.

I want the next portal game to be set in SPACE.

I think playing with different levels of gravity (normal, low and zero) would really complement how portals work and I think how some of the gels work in those same gravities could also be really interesting.

    The Plot

I'm not really expecting the plot to be anything like this if by some miracle valve sees this and decides to use my idea, but here's the kind of general storyline that I'd like to see.

    • Chell wakes up gently in her life outside of Aperture, but discovers that for whatever reason (you guys down in the comments can think of something, probably way better than anything I could come up with) she needs to go to a space station far away.

•She goes on a space shuttle to the station, and on this journey, the basic controls are introduced and, importantly, it is revealed that the space station is controlled by GLaDOS. (note: for it to be consistent with the storyline, GLaDOS probably didn't deliberately being her there)

•Before she can say, "let me go home please", she arrives at the station and is put through her paces with a couple of test chambers.

(Note: the next few plot points are not very well thought out, I'm just writing them on the fly),

•Something happens involving the space station breaking or needing completion, and the next few chambers involve zero gravity environments.

•GLaDOS discovers (or thinks she does) that something from the outside is causing damage to the station, and that she needs to destroy it.

•Chell continues completing test chambers, but as GLaDOS continues failing to find this mysterious entity that is destroy the station, she begins to start suspecting Chell of engineering the whole situation to destroy her.

•GLaDOS is now actively trying to kill Chell again, referencing how she tried to leave her alone, and saying that it's Chell's fault this is happening.

•Chell begins sneaking around the station (similar to the original portal) and tries to find some sort of escape, until...

•...She (and this is a big maybe) discovers Wheatley (who has somehow made his way to the ship) and finds out that he is, in fact (somehow) causing all the damage to the ship. He offers his assistance to get them both off the ship, destroy GLaDOS (and the station) and live happily ever after.

•Chell (who is finally taking an active role in her life) agrees to go along with the plan, but in the end, ends up leaving both of them to die with the station.

•She escapes with an escape pod, and the end credits roll.

    Idea for End Credits

The final song is not sung by GLaDOS (as she is finally dead) but by a different (unknown) computer, perhaps hinting at a sequel.

    Notes

I know that, throughout my plot, I haven't really mentioned much aperture technology and if you guys want to see more of that, feel free to mention it in the comments! Any input is welcome and/or encouraged.

    Have a great day!

In Portal 1, where are all the bodies?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 06:22 PM PDT

After Chell escapes the incineration chamber, she traverses multiple offices. But she never stumbles upon any dead scientists or even blood. Why is this the case?

As far as I know, GLaDOS has murdered all scientists at once by flooding the entire facility with the neurotoxin, but there's no way that she could clean it up since she cannot reach Chell in the Aperture offices.

    So, where are they?

After playing Portal and Portal 2 multiple times, my brain has cought the dark humour behind the games and it never gets old. If you want to lose all sense of sanity and have an urge to test, play Portal and Portal 2 because this post is also a test to see if you will upvote if I post something random.

I'm pretty sure that Portal 2 takes place in the year 29,389

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:33 AM PDT

The announcer in Portal 2 says 7 nines (9999999). Portal 1 takes place in 2010. adding 2010 years to 9999999 days gets 29,389 years. Before you bring up anything about Portal stories: Mel taking place around 2056, that isn't true. We don't know when Mel takes place, but 2056 is the numbers for the gamertag of one of the creators: lonewolf2056. But anyways, unless the announcer was having a major voice error, that's when P2 takes place.
