    Portal 2 cfg settings won't persist across re-launch

    So I'm trying to stream Portal 2 on Twitch, and it's wreaking havoc with my audio setup. My mic is typically very well balanced and smooth, but launching Portal 2 cranks the Windows setting for the mic to 100 (from 75), and changing the Steam settings AND manually editing the .cfg file (voice_mixer_volume) does not work once the game is closed and relaunched. It goes right back to 100, causing my mic to peak and distort and just sound overall nasty.

    In addition to this, the game audio in Windows sound mixer defaults to 100% despite me having set it to half-volume. Again, changing the .cfg file doesn't work, and adjusting the settings within the game don't persist across a re-launch.

    Any ideas? I suppose for as short a period of time I'll be streaming the game, I can just manually tweak it ahead of time and leave the game running, but that's a really half-assed way to do it, IMO.

    im a loser that has no friends so i want to go coop with random people but it takes so long and when it founds somebody it only founds partners that from my country. How to avoid this i wanna get partners from every countries so it wont take so long. How to do this?

    how do you basically would use the portal gun and your strategy and if you die you will be staying for ever in portal 2 as chell so what would you do?

    USB Gamepad Support for Portal

    Has anyone successfully controlled portal using a USB gamepad? I have one from my RetroPi system (iBuffalo), and it works great there, but when I try and configure it in Portal for PC, it has no function. Even after clicking "enable gamepad", and attempting to reconfigure direction keys and actions, it never seems to communicate.

    What am I missing?

    Xbox One X - is Portal 2 actually in native 4K?

    It looks to be sub-4K, and not as good as Portal from the Orange Box (confirmed 4K)

    I just want to make sure there aren't any settings I am neglecting. If not, why does Portal 2 look worse than Portal 1 on this system?

    I'm talking about the higher tier Xbox console released in 2017, not the newer ones. Thanks.

    Growing Through Gaming Playthrough (Using Portal as a Teaching Tool for my 6-Year-Old)

    We've already made some good progress through the game, but she's starting to get to the point where here hand dexterity is being seriously tested, even if she can think through the puzzles okay. Here are the highlights from the streams so far:

    Haven't fully decided on what the theme of the final GTG lesson video will be (for reference, the Undertale playthrough was about improving determination). The initial goal of the playthrough was to help her develop coordination with 3D first-person games as well as improve her problem solving. So far, I am leaning toward this idea of taking a complex problem and breaking it down into single solvable steps. We've had to do this throughout the playthrough, and I've started talking about applications in school and at home as well. Anyway, really enjoying playing through with her and excited to see her tackle some of the bigger challenges at the end of first game.
